Indiana Filmmakers Network

Mission Statement

The Indiana Filmmakers Network works to facilitate dialogue among film and video makers in the state of Indiana. We endeavor to foster a creative community that provides support, camaraderie and resources to those working to see their visions become reality. Our gatherings are open to all with Hoosier connections who wish to participate.

We envision the Network as a primary resource for film and video makers who work in Indiana, as a launching platform for creativity, and as a true network where all are considered equal, regardless of technical knowledge or commercial success.

The Indiana Filmmakers Network meets monthly at the Hamilton 16 IMAX Exit 10 off I-69. The meetings are held on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 7pm. Anyone interested in filmmaking is welcome.

IFN Lafayette - Focus on HORROR Makeup & Practical Effects!!!
In Honor of Halloween!

The October 20th, Indiana Filmmakers Network - Lafayette chapter meeting, will be devoted to Special Effects Makeup & Practical Effects! With our VERY special guest speaker DAVID SCHLATTER!!!

Special effects makeup & practical effects, have always been David Schlatter’s first and favorite love; monsters, creatures, zombies, prosthetic and wound makeup are always in demand. Recently working on the production of the short film, Fertility 2.0 (whose creature was designed by Lydia Burris), provided David with some very unique makeup challenges in a low budget production setting.

David also has been involved in theatre and film for a number of years, "The Pillowman, The Lieutenant of Inishmore, and Evil Dead - The Musical," are just some of his favorite theatre productions, for which he has worked, designed, and built all the practical effects for.

David has designed a Non-explosive blood hit systems called the Safety Hit that is cost effective for large and low budget films and theatre. The Safety Hit system was first used in a theatre production of "The Flaming Guns of The Purple Sage," and has been used in movies in the US and Canada.
